A Day at the Airshow

Over the weekend I attended an Extreme Airshow at the airport. it was an amazing experience, with some unbelievable acrobatics performed by the pilots.
There were teams of Pitts’ and even a Boeing 737 performing some incredible maneuvers.

The Early Models

With the invention of the airplane came the building of the models as a hobby.

Very different to the ones we know today; those models came in a box, and their main purpose was to display the hobbyist's work of art.

The model airplanes of yesteryear actually could fly. They did not contain anything as complicated as a motor, but merely used basic aeronautic principles to fly short distances and short heights.

F-14 Tomcat: A Classic Model

The F-14 Tomcat is a supersonic twin-engine, two-seat aircraft.

The F-14 was the United States Navy's primary air fighter from 1974 to 2006.

It entered service in 1974 with the U.S. Navy,
replacing the F-4 Phantom II.
It was retired from the active U.S. Navy fleet on 22 September 2006, having been replaced by the F-18 Super Hornet.
